Call for Posters
“Owls on the Move: When, Where, and Why” March 17th – 19th, 2006 Symposium hosted by: Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory, Minnesota Audubon, Minnesota Ornithologists’ Union, and the Department of Biology and the Natural Resources Research Institute of the University of Minnesota Duluth. We invite abstract submissions for poster presentations at the “Owls on the Move” symposium March 17th – 19th, 2006 at the University of Minnesota Duluth campus. The symposium will address three components of northern owl irruption: biology, management, and socio-economics. Posters that address these aspects of northern owl irruption are especially encouraged. Posters relating to more general northern owl themes are also invited. Symposium attendance is limited. To reserve a poster position, please submit a 3-5 sentence description of your poster to the email address below. Posters will be accepted in the order descriptions are received and after they are judged appropriate to the symposium themes. An abstract is required but may be submitted separately. Your poster abstract must be received no later than February 20th, 2006. Include the following information in your submission: (1) title of the poster, (2) the author(s) and their affiliations, (3) the corresponding author’s mailing address, telephone number, and email address, and (4) poster description or the abstract (maximum 250 words). Posters should not exceed 6 ft in height and 5 ft in width. Artist easels, large panels, tables, tape, and pushpins will be provided for posters. Authors should keep in mind audience members will be from a variety of backgrounds.
