Evening Owl Programs
Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory is excited to offer both Saturday evening public owl programs and small group evening owl programs. The two Saturday evening owl programs will be held Sat. Oct. 3rd and Sat. Oct. 17th. The small group evening owl programs are for up to 8 people (minimum of 4 required or payment for 4, if scheduling for less than 4). Those programs are scheduled in advance and held Sept. 22nd-Oct. 31st (Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat). Saturday Evening Public Owl Programs
(Oct. 3rd & 17th – must pre-register)
Hawk Ridge is well known for the fantastic fall and spring raptor migration visible during the daylight hours, but did you know that things don’t slow down at night? Hawk Ridge typically bands more owls during the fall season than anywhere else in North America! Whoo doesn’t like owls? From large to small, seasonal travelers, and hardy residents, Minnesota hosts a fascinating diversity of owls, with some crazy habits, and some hauntingly beautiful sounds in the night. Join us to travel through a year of owls found in Minnesota, exploring their interesting life histories, and spotlighting some of the amazing things research has taught us about owls, and a bit about telling who’s whoo.
DATES: Saturday, October 3rd and Saturday, October 17th (pre-registration required)
TIME: 8:00pm (arrive 10-15 minutes prior; duration 45-90 min)
LOCATION: Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve Education Program Area (NOTE: Please dress for the weather. If inclement weather, registrants will be notified about cancellation or alternative options).
COST: $10/member; $15/nonmember (limited tickets available).

Small Group Owl Programs (must pre-register)
Small group owl programs (up to 8 people) are another great opportunity to learn more about the owls found in this area, their natural history, and owl research at Hawk Ridge, including the potential of the banding of live owls and their release back into the wild!
DATES/TIME: Programs held September 22nd – October 31st on select dates (only offered Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat) with evening time to be arranged (typically start time begins between 7:30-9pm, 1.5-2-hour program).
LOCATION: Meeting location at Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve will be sent by email
COST: $40/member; $50/nonmember (note: min. of 4 registrants or min. payment for 4 is required if less than 4 are registered. Hawk Ridge reserves the right to add additional registrants to fill the program to 8 as needed, unless a private group is willing to cover the full cost of 8 participants.)
