Ember Schaefers (she/they), Visitor Services Specialist

Ember grew up in northeast Iowa and is an avid birder, plant nerd, and wasp watcher. She’s been birding for nearly three years and has led guided birding hikes, participated in Christmas bird counts, and assisted with bluebird nesting surveys. This will be her first year working at hawk ridge, where shes excited to learn even more and share her love for birds with others. In her free time, you can find her out hiking, skating, kayaking, fishing, and maybe getting just a little bit too friendly with a paper wasp or hornet.
