June Yost, Passerine Bander

June is coming from California for the third year in a row to be a passerine bander at Hawk Ridge this fall. She’s spent the last couple of years banding passerines on the west coast, and is super excited to spend some time working with the immense songbird diversity that Hawk Ridge sees during fall migration. She found her love for birds at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and she is especially fond of Bushtits, Wrentits, and California Thrashers. When she’s not banding passerines, you can find June on the count platform distracting the counters with funny stories and rusty raptor identification skills.
